Giulio Caccini (1551-1618), was an Italian composer, teacher, singer, instrumentalist and writer. Caccini is mostly known for his Ave Maria. This hauntingly beautiful 16th century melody was virtually unknown until the 90's of the 20th century when artists such as Andrea Bocelli and Charlotte Church performed this piece and made it immense popular.
(Note: In fact was the aria composed by Vladimir Vavilov (1925 - 1973) a Russian composer. However, after his death the composition was incorrectly attributed to the 16th century Italian composer Giulio Caccini. For the sake of its great fame as such, resulting in a positive commercial influence, it is kept that way, even going so far as to mention Caccini as the composer.)
