Classical composers who have used csárdás themes in their works include Emmerich Kálmán, Franz Liszt, Johannes Brahms, Léo Delibes, Johann Strauss, Pablo de Sarasate, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and others. But probably the best-known csárdás is the composition for Viollin and Orchestra by Vittorio Monti: a traditional Hungarian folk dance originated in Hungary and played by almost every gypsy orchestra. In this transcription is the solo part played by the Alto Saxophone.
