Franz Schubert composed his Lied, 'Der Erlkönig' (Erlking), for solo voice and piano in 1815, setting text from a poem by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The song has become one of Schubert's most famous songs and has been orchestrated by many famous composers. The version by Hector Berlioz is one of these and has now been transcribed for a Voice and Symphonic Band by Dutch arranger Jos van de Braak.
