Schubert composed the music for the melodrama of the same name. Falsely, the overture to this melodrama was long adopted as the opening work for the play "Rosamunde", to which Schubert composed his own overture. The melodrama "The Magic Harp" can no longer be performed scenic because the scripts for the spoken text was lost. Rarely is the music performed in concert, however, the overture has a permanent place in the concert halls of the world. (Edition Symphonic Works)
