Sir Henry Wood was an English conductor best known for his association with London's annual series of promenade concerts, known as the 'Proms'. To mark the centenary of the 'Battle of Trafalgar' in 1905, Wood arranged a medley of British sea songs. This arrangement became well known as 'Fantasia on British Sea Songs' and for many years it was seen as an indispensable item at the BBC's 'Last Night of the Proms' concert. American arranger Douglas McLain transcribed the original version of this 'Fantasia'. Of course are the 'Hornpipe' and 'Rule Britannia' included.
