Pietro Alessandro Yon(1886 -1943) was an Italian-born organist and composer who made his career in the United States.
As a composer, Yon is most famous for his Humoresque ‘L'organo primitivo’ and ‘Gesù bambino’, an Italian Christmas carol composed in 1917. The melody was used by Frederick H. Martens in his English language carol 'When Blossoms Flowered 'mid the Snows'. The melody and lyrics of the chorus are derived from 'Adeste Fideles' (O Come All Ye Faithful).
Dutch arranger Jos van de Braak arranged this carol for Voice, Choir (optional) and Symphonic Band.
