In 1869 Johann Strauss composed the polka francaise ´Im Krapfenwald'l´ (´In Krapfen's Woods´). It was originally titled ´Im Pawlowsk Walde´ when first performed in Pavlovsk (Russia). Reportedly, several encores of the piece were called for and Strauss felt moved and retitled the piece to suit his audience back in native Vienna. Dutch arranger Jos van de Braak transcribed this polka for Symphonic Band.
