Spanish composer Manuel de Falla composed in 1914 'Siete canciones populares españolas' (Seven Spanish Folksongs). It's a cycle of traditional Spanish songs arranged for soprano and piano by the composer. The styles and provenance of the songs are strikingly diverse. They are from different parts of Spain. All the texts deal with love and the courting process, whether playfully, seriously, or tragically. The 4th song is 'Jota' which is a Spanish dance from Aragón in the northeast. In this edition it's arranged for soprano with accompaniment of a Symphonic Band.
