Léo Delibes (1836 - 1891) was a French composer specialized in ballets, operas, and other works for the stage. But he also wrote some songs, among which 'Les filles de Cadix' (The Girls of Cadiz) is the best well-known. 'Les filles de Cadix' is a picturesque song, suggesting the style of Georges Bizet. It is mainly sung by soprano's and has become a part of the concert repertoire.
