The March in E flat major on a Russian theme, op. 76, was written in the summer of 1901 in the composer's country house in Oserki, near St. Petersburg. In this country house, Glasunov spent the summer months, among other things to recover from composing but also to meet friends there with whom they played together. The folkloric pieces of music played here were probably also the inspiration for the March op. 76, especially on its main theme. (Edition Symphonic Works)
