Carl Heinrich Carsten Reinecke (1824 –1910) was a German composer, conductor, and pianist. After retirement as a teacher at the conservatory, Reinecke devoted his time to composition with a long and varied list of compositions, ranging from opera and vocal and choral works to three symphonies, concert overtures, concertos for the piano and for other instruments, chamber music, piano compositions, editions and pedagogical works. Amongst these is the ‘Notturno in E-flat major’, Opus 112 for Horn and Orchestra which is now transcribed for Horn and Symphonic Band by Belgian arranger Yorick De Bruycker.
