'Pelléas et Mélisande', Opus 80 is a suite derived from incidental music by French composer Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924) for Maurice Maeterlinck's play of the same name. The 'Sicilienne' (Allegro molto moderato) is the third part of this suite. This movement, although in the traditionally sad key of G minor, represents the one moment of happiness shared by Pelléas and Mélisande.
