The Waltz from 'The Sleeping Beauty' (Garland Waltz) is the first dance in Act one of the ballet: It is Princess Aurora's sixteenth birthday. Celebrations are already underway: the atmosphere is festive, made complete with a waltz danced by the villagers with garlands. This waltz became one of Tschaikowsky's most famous works and was used in many movies like the 1959 Disney film 'Once upon a dream'.
