Josef Strauss (1827-1870) was an Austrian composer, son of Johann Strauss ('Vater') and brother of Johann jr. and Eduard. Josef Strauss was arguably the most talented of the Strauss dynasty, although his brother Johann was certainly the most successful.
In 1864 he composed the 'Sport Polka'. It’s is a fast and lively polka (‘Polka schnell’) which is full of fun, rhythmic energy and great forward momentum.
