Die Schöpfung (The Creation) is an oratorio written between 1796 and 1798 by Joseph Haydn and considered by many to be his masterpiece. The oratorio depicts and celebrates the creation of the world as described in the biblical Book of Genesis and in Paradise Lost. Vollendet ist das große Werk (Fulfilled at last the great work) is the last movement from the 2nd part of the oratorio. This Trio and Chorus is sung by the archangels Gabriel (soprano), Uriel (tenor), Raphael (bass) and the chorus.
